I’m here to welcome all parts of you back home to your Self ---your divine I AM---

through the arts.

Art creation is a foundation for our well-being.

Through artistic processes we honor parts of ourselves that often go untended in our day to day tasks.  Art making invites us to enter a state of flow, where our spirit, soul, and intuition can lead the way while our thinking mind rests or serves.

Over the years it’s become clear to me through messages from family, schools, and our larger Western society, that the value and depth of artistic processes are largely unseen, unexperienced, and misunderstood.  Art creation is a necessity to our basic well-being not a luxury.  And I am here to advocate for the arts and hold a studio space where you can remember or perhaps discover for the first time the rich value of the arts for you.

Ignite your creative flames.

Soothe your senses.

Nurture your inner child.

Ever since I was a young child, I’ve LOVED art with all of me. It is play, fun, and an experience of timelessness.  Through it I enter a different world, a safe place, a saving grace, and a loving confidant.  Art makes sense to me when other things don’t and always brings me back to myself, to the beauty of the moment, reconnecting me to appreciation for life and to the truth of my essence and soulful knowing.  After studying Guided Drawing with the Institute for Sensorimotor Art Therapy, I now have further insights into how to engage art materials in a way that regulates the nervous system and honors emotions, so that important messages are gleaned that may otherwise go unheard or forgotten.  And it's all about the process!

Lauren Kennedy is an artist, teacher, and therapeutic arts facilitator exploring how art materials can be tools for nurturing our senses, relaxing our minds, befriending our bodies, and expressing what words cannot.  She loves to support people in accessing the peacefulness that arrives when we transcend ourselves through immersing into art making as a living, breathing, dynamic process—rather than fixating on reaching a “perfected” product.  With over 17 years of experience tending children’s development, she has a knack for seeing the needs of people’s inner children and tailoring art activities to meet those needs.  She has walked the paths of nanny, arts & crafts camp counselor, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist for children diagnosed along the Autism Spectrum, transitional home house parent for teens, Waldorf Kindergarten Teacher, High School Art, Identity, & Belonging teacher, and art gallery assistant & teaching artist for adult classes.  Lauren enjoys facilitating expressive art groups, classes and workshops, as well as private art mentoring and coaching sessions.  She finds that the movements we make when creating have the power to uplift us and open our bodies and minds to new possibilities of thriving in our lives.
